Silver, enamels; measures 39.0 mm in height incl. eyelet, 34.1 mm wide; weighs 21.7 g not including the suspension and connecting link. Features a circular eyelet with flat sides.

In very fine to excellent condition. The enamel on the star and letters is literally perfect - free of even the microscopic traces of wear that could be found under a 10x magnification - and shows a beautiful luster. There are a few minuscule dings to the raised edge and a single small scrape to the rim at approximately 4 o'clock that is barely noticeable. Beside a few occasional tiny contact marks, the silver medallion shows no other wear visible to the unaided eye. There is a very attractive dark patina to the silver throughout.

The medal comes with an original suspension in brass. The beautifully preserved ribbon is old and possibly original to the medal. The connecting link appears to be original as well; its ends are still joined with solder.
