Government Cover showing a drawing of the Vilnius Art Gallery, Lithuanian SSR, artist identified on verso, 1974.
The size is 6 ¼" x 4 ½", postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The preprinted government postal stamp is one of the most frequently used Soviet stamps, showing the USSR State Emblem and the Soviet hammer and sickle emblem. The artwork on the left side depicts the Vilnius Picture Gallery. The artist's name, A. Zharov, is printed on the bottom flap on the verso.
In very good condition. Uncommonly, the paper is not bleached to its usual bright-white tone. The tip of the top flap on the verso has a small rip, not very obvious or detractive; no other wear is visible to the naked eye.
