The artwork is an offset print of Deineka's iconic huge 3 x 4 meters oil-on-canvas painting created in 1942 and exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

Alexander Deineka (1809 - 1969), a native of Kursk, was enthralled by the beauty of the city of Sevastopol. He reminisced that, when he saw the destruction of the city left by the German occupation, he felt the grief and horror endured by its inhabitants, and decided to create a painting capturing their indomitable spirit and courage.
