Far Eastern Highest Merchant Fleet Engineering School, graduate badge, circa 1980s.
Brass, enamels, lacquer; 44.7 x 25.3 mm. Single-piece construction. The reverse has the late-style round logo of the Moscow Mint.
In excellent condition. The enamel is perfect and shows a magnificent luster. The raised details of the artwork are pristine. The screw post is full-length, over 9 mm, and comes with an original unmarked screw plate.
Abbreviated ДВИМУ ("DVIMU") the Far Eastern Highest Merchant Engineering School was one of the Soviet top-level colleges. Unlike most other schools with the designation uchilishche, it had the status of a higher education establishment, same as a university or an engineering institute.
