Porcelain Plate commemorating the 50th anniversary of October Revolution, by Sumy Porcelain Factory, 1965-67.
Measures 7" across at the lip, which is decorated with "50 Years to October", in gilt, in Ukrainian language, split between the opposing sides of the lip. Maker marked on the bottom (fig. # 676 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).
In very good to excellent condition. The gilt rimming the bowl is slightly worn off but still very much present; the gilt of the artwork is fresh and retained its original luster. A barely perceptible raised ridge runs across the bowl, incurred during the manufacturing process. Glaze is worn off along its high point - visible but not too obvious. Tilting the plate to reflect a bright light reveals some usage wear - minor scuffing and scratching, practically invisible at a normal viewing angle.
Please note that the teaspoon in our photo is for size reference.
