Group of 2 posthumous documents to a fighter pilot Captain Mikhail Dovgan.
awarded with an Order of the Red Banner in 1939 for fighting against the Japanese in Mongolia, and killed in a plane crash in 1940, while still on his tour of duty in Mongolia.
1. Letter to pilot's daughter, on the Ministry of Defense stationary, 1980. The letter briefly describes circumstances of Mihail Dovgan's death, and says that he served as a fighter pilot and flagshturman [unit navigator] in 56th Fighter Regiment during the Mongolian campaign. He was born in 1911 and before his assignment graduated from 8th Air Force School of Pilots.
2. Letter to pilot's daughter, on the stationary of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet, November 1980. The letter confirms that Mikhail Dovgan' was awarded with an Order of the Red Banner on 17 November 1939 for "exemplary execution of combat assignments set by the Government, and shown valor and courage".
