Measures 4 ½" x 3 ½", printed on glossy photo paper. The czar is sitting on a riverbank, surrounded by his three daughters, enjoying a leisurely chat with the officers standing behind. Most people in the photo are smiling.

In very good to excellent condition. The image, done in sepia notes, is in such sharp focus that, armed with a magnifying glass, the viewer can enjoy the minutest details of everyone's attire, and even details of the officers' uniforms, shoulder boards and decorations. Diagonal creases at the lower right and upper left-hand corners are visible but away from anything of importance. Tilting the photo to reflect a bright light reveals a few tiny contact points and hairlines to the emulsion, completely invisible when looking at the photo at a normal viewing angle. The verso is slightly age-toned and mostly clean, showing minimal storage wear.
