Badge of Concertmaster at the VII International Tchaikovsky Competition, Moscow, 1982.
In bronze, gilt, and enamels. Massive and large at 30 mm in height, 48 mm in width. Two-part construction with Tchaikovsky's miniature but finely sculpted head attached with wires. Mark of the Leningrad Mint is in raised relief under the pin attachment.
In excellent condition. Minute loss of gilt to the sides of the rectangle is not very obvious or detractive. The pin attachment is in perfect working order.
The International Tchaikovsky Competition is a classical music competition held every four years in Moscow and St. Petersburg for pianists, violinists, chellists, and singers. This is one of the most prestigious musical competitions in the world.
