Ukrainian Nationalist Anti-Bolshevik Flyer БАЛАМУТИ ("troublemakers"), issued by the Directorate of Ukraine, published by the Information Bureau of the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic, November 1918 - January 1919.
Single page sized 9" x 16 ½", front only. The text is in Ukrainian. The title refers to the bolsheviks and SR (socialist revolutionaries), the parties which acted to disrupt preparations for deposing Hetman Skoropadskyi, Head of the Ukrainian State, and did not join the other Ukrainian parties in the actual fight to depose the Hetman. These preparations and the fight were led by the Directorate of Ukraine, a provisional collegiate revolutionary committee which existed until November 1920. In December 1918 the Directorate troops took Kiev, overthrew Skoropadskyi's regime, and established the Ukrainian People's Republic. The flyer continues to describe the bolsheviks' campaign of disinformation, and agitation against the Directorate, against unity among all Ukrainian political parties and their collective effort to build a better life for all Ukrainians.
In excellent condition. The paper is slightly wrinkled, and shows small spots of discoloration, not too different from the rest of the age-toned paper and not detractive. Very light wear to the edges and corners is far from the text. The very tip of the bottom left-hand corner is missing. The text is bright, crispy clear and perfectly legible.
Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
