Hand-Painted Porcelain Teapot, by Kiev Experimental Artistic Ceramics Factory, 1976-91.

Stands 9 ½" tall to the tip of the lid, the foot is about 4 ½" x 3 ½". Capacity approx. 1.2 - 1.3 liters of liquid, comfortably. Maker marked on the bottom (fig. # 298 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).

In outstanding, excellent condition. With the exception of two tiny indentations on the tip of the lid - under the glaze and so, clearly, a manufacturing defect, - no wear visible to the naked eye.

The Kiev Experimental Artistic Ceramics Factory was founded in 1924 as a center of experimentation for all Ukrainian porcelain, faience, and glass manufacturing factories and workshops. The factory was destroyed during WW2, but was then rebuilt and continued as a full-scale manufacturing facility using the artistic styles developed by the factory's designers.

Please note that the teaspoon in our photo is for size reference.
