Military Archival Photo of Airborne Captain Fyodor Tyurin (Федор Эммануилович Тюрин), with Four Decorations and WW2 Type Parachute Instructor Badge, late 1940s - early 50s.
Measures 3 ¼" x 4 ½", printed on glossy photo paper. The archival entry on the verso identifies the officer and bears the seal of the 109th Guards Parachute Airborne Regiment.
In excellent condition, no significant wear to report. The image is not in ideally sharp focus but good enough to identify the decorations. The text and seal of the archival entry are crisp and perfectly legible.
Fyodor Tyurin (born 1922) was enlisted into RKKA in 1942 and fought in WW2 as a spotter in the crew of a 82-mm mortar. He was wounded in the fourth Battle of Kharkiv in August 1943, and was belatedly, in June 1945, awarded with the Order of the Red Star, even though his commendation letter was for the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class.
