Hand-Painted Porcelain Teapot, by Dovbysh Factory, 1974-91.
Diminutive and delicate, standing mere 5" to the tip of the lid, 4" across at the shoulder, 2 ½" wide at the foot. Sparcely and tastefully hand-painted golden leaves and clusters of red berries stand out against the cobalt background, further accented by generous bands of gilt and completely gilt-covered spout and handle. Maker marked on the bottom. This version of the Dovbysh Porcelain Factory logo was in used from 1974 to 1991 (fig. # 209 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).
In excellent condition. The gilt on the tip of the lid is partly worn off. Otherwise, there is virtually no wear or damage visible to the naked eye.
