Photo Postcard with view on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street in Moscow, 1956.

The size is continental standard 6 x 4", postally marked and used. Published by the USSR Ministry of Communications, circulation unknown. The photographer's name, I. Golyand (И. Голянд), is printed in the lower left-hand corner on the verso. The postal mark is space-themed and inscribed "Glory to Labor and Science!" It shows the post-1961 currency reform price of 3 kopeks.

In excellent condition. The paper is only slightly age-toned and mostly clean, showing a faint stain in the lower left-hand corner of the obverse, and a tiny dark smear in the address area on the verso. The card is unwrinkled, and the corner bumps are microscopic.

The handwritten message on the verso is dated December 1964, but it is not surprising that an eight-year-old postcard and a three-year-old postal mark were used. Not much ever changed in the Soviet Union, and flow of time was more of a philosophical concept than a part of the fabric of daily life.
