Poster Song about Stalin, with Stalin's portrait and song lyrics, artist signed, 1949.
Very large format, measuring 37 ¼" x 23 ½". Published by the ART State Publishing House in the year of Stalin's 70th birthday. The artist's name, I. Mozalevskiy (И. Мозалевский) is printed in the lower left-hand corner under the image. The stanzas with the lyrics of the song, by S. Alymov (С. Алымов), are positioned around the centerpiece portrait of Stalin in an ornate gold frame with the communist hammer-and-sickle emblem on top.
In very good condition. The paper is slightly wrinkled, the edges show mild fraying but the entire perimeter of the poster is reinforced with tape on the verso. Old fold lines are visible if you look for them but not very intrusive to the eye, and not detractive on the large poster.
The poster was published as a small part of the national frenzy to sing praise to the Great Helmsman on his 70th birthday. It is difficult to convey the level of sycophancy of these lyrics. Suffice it to say that, including the title, the name "Stalin" repeats ten times in just three short stanzas and a refrain.
Please note that the 1-ft. ruler in our photo is for size reference.
