Jetton in Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of St Petersburg, 1903.

In brass, 24.5 mm wide. Features a portrait of Peter I, the founder of the city, with the inscription "Emperor Peter the Great" on the obverse. The reverse has the St. Petersburg's coat of arms of crossed anchors and scepter, banners topped with double-headed eagle, and raised inscription "In Commemoration of the 200th Anniversary of the of St Petersburg, 1703-1903.

Fine to very fine condition. The details of the artwork on both sides are very well-preserved and crisp, having almost none of the usual wear to the high points. There are some small bumps to the raised edge visible only on the reverse, no significant scratches or other major flaws. Shows a modest amount of tarnish which is not too detractive.

Typical souvenir jetton sold throughout the city during the anniversary celebrations. Please note, the penny in our photo is for size reference.
