Iskry ("Sparks"), #48, 6 December 1915, Illustrated Literary Journal with Caricatures.

Newspaper format measuring approx. 13" x 18", 8 pp. Published as a weekly journal of the Russkoye Slovo ("The Russian Word") newspaper. Russian text in the pre-1917 reform orthography which contains obsolete letters.

In fair to good condition. There is considerable wear - tears, fraying of edges, separations along the fold lines, even some soiling, evident throughout the journal. However, all the wear is confined to the margins and does not affect the printed material, the text and imagery of which are bright, clear, and perfectly legible.

The issue is a little "unfocused" as the winter of 1915 was a difficult time for the Russian Imperial Army, and there were no significant successes to enthuse about. A lot of space is given to honoring the heroes of the war, with a special emphasis on medical personnel. The entire centerfold depicts the coronation ceremony of the Japanese Mikado.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
