Leninskiye Iskry ("Lenin's Sparks"), 23 February 1947 issue.
The size is approx. 12" x 16". This issue came out on the Soviet Army Day, and the entire first page is a propaganda poster featuring a company of Suvorov Military School cadets on parade in Moscow's Red Square alongside the victorious Red Army soldiers, all marching at the feet of the giant Generalissimo. Page 2 is entitled "The Great Stalin - Father of the Victory", and is an excellent example of the extent the young generation was brainwashed to attribute the victory in the war solely to the Great Father of All Peoples.
So, how can the young pioneers of Leningrad be worthy of the Great Helmsman? Just read page 3! It is full of great examples of heroic deeds of young pioneers during the war in the service of the Soviet Motherland. And finally, page 4 opens the minds of Leningrad youth to the Red Army as a theme in folk art, literature, and poetry.
In excellent condition, showing just minor wear and age-toning to the paper. Application of color is rather primitive but the text and illustrations are clear enough and quite legible.
