Hand-painted porcelain coffee service for 6 persons, by LFZ, incomplete at 21 pieces, 1986 - 2009.

The set includes 1 coffee pot with lid, 1 creamer, 1 sugar bowl with lid, 1 fruit or pastries bowl, 1 flower vase, 6 demitasse cups, 5 saucers, and 5 small butter dishes. Each item is maker marked on the bottom. This version of the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory logo was in use from 1986 to 2009 (fig. # 495 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).

Our last photo has a teaspoon to give you a visual idea of the size of the items, but to be more specific, the coffee pot stands approx. 7 ½" tall to the tip of the lid; the cups are 2 ¼" tall, 3" across at the lip and 1 ½" across at the foot; butter dishes are 4 ½" across, and the saucers are 6" across.

Each item is exquisitely hand-painted in subdued lilac and bronze tones with bright gold-plated accents. While the small dishes, saucers and fruit bowl have the artwork running on the inner side next to the gold-plated band around the lip, the vase and sugar bowl, as well as the cups, show a delightful difference, where the artwork is applied mostly at mid-height of their bellies. The variety culminates in the coffee pot and sugar bowl where the florals stream from the top down, met by the ascending soft vertical ribs of their bodies. And that is not to mention that, as in all hand-painted artwork, it is easy to find elements that look identical at first glance but, upon close inspection, are only similar.

The set is in outstanding, superb condition. It does not look like it has ever been used, and there is no post-manufacturing wear or damage of any kind visible to the naked eye.

Please note that the teaspoon in our last photo is for size reference.
