Achievement Certificate issued to aircraft repairman Grigoriy Vaisberg (Григорий Израилевич Вайсберг) for excellent productivity and quality of work, circa late 1930s.

Single page, 12" x 8". Printed by order of the Aircraft Repair Base No. 404 and featuring its graphic emblem in the center under the portraits of Lenin and Stalin. Two lengthy quotes to the right and left of the portraits, belonging to Lenin and Stalin, extoll the values and virtue of socialist competition as a matter of pride and honor, not material compensation.

The logo of the repair base is of interest as it showcases the trademark of the Soviet Civil Aviation before Aeroflot. The abbreviation ГВФ stands for "Гражданский Воздушный Флот", meaning "civil aviation fleet".

The certificate was issued and signed by the administrative, party, and trade union chiefs, given to a Jewish worker, judging by his name.

In very good condition. The paper is not of very high quality, so it is not surprising to see an occasional short rip to the edge. However, they are neither long nor gaping open, and can easily be repaired with library tape on the verso. Unexpectedly for a place working with lubricants and machine oil, the certificate is completely clean of any soiling.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
