Yugoslavia, Order of the Republic, 2nd class (with silver wreath), 1963 version, circa 1960s-70s.
Silver gilt, enamels. Multi-piece construction: the gold state emblem and center disc with wreath are separate pieces superimposed on the white starburst. Measures 44.8 mm in height, 46.8 mm in width; weighs 33.9 g. This is the 1963 version of the award featuring seven flames in the torch (for the number of republics in the Yugoslav Federation). Unlike the late issues in brass, this piece has a stamped mint mark "IKOM" of the Zagreb Mint on the reverse and exhibits superior quality.
In excellent condition. The enamel is essentially perfect, having only some microscopic contact marks unnoticeable to the naked eye. The gilt finish is exceptionally well-preserved and bright throughout, showing a very attractive toning on the reverse that adds character. The pin attachment and its catch are fully functional.
