Charming Porcelain Polka Dot Tea Service for 5 Persons (12 pcs), by Dovbysh Factory, 1955 - 1974.

The set includes a petit tea pot, a sugar bowl of the same size (both with lids), and 5 cups with saucers. The tea pot and sugar bowl stand approx. 5 ¼" tall to the tip of the lid, about 4" wide at the shoulder and 2" across at the foot. The cups are 3" tall, 3 ¼" wide at the lip and 2" across at the foot. The saucers are approx. 5" wide at the lip. The set features a simple cheerful polka-dot white-on-red polka-dot design running around the upper half of the cups, pot and bowl, and around the edge of the saucers. The white foundation is separated from the red background of the ornament by elegant thin lines of gilt. Each item is maker marked on the bottom. This version of the Dovbysh Porcelain Factory, Ukraine, was in use from 1955 to 1974 (fig. # 206 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).

The entire set is in excellent, outstanding condition in terms of there being no post-production wear or damage. Whatever very minor imperfections you can notice (e.g., slightly uneven edge to the red paint on one of the saucers) were clearly acquired during the manufacturing process. None of these imperfections are easy to notice and are definitely not detractive.

Please notice that the teaspoon in our photo is for size reference.
