Army Proficiency badge (for enlisted men), 2nd class, circa 1960s - early 70s.
In anodized aluminum, "cold" enamels and lacquer; 41.8 x 31.0 mm. This screw back badge is an interesting transitional version: it is of lesser quality than the early issues in brass - even those with pin attachment - but still noticeably better than the typical pin back qualification badges from the 70s-80s.
In excellent condition. The enamel and lacquer finish are perfect. There are a couple of minor scratches on the reverse but the anodized gold finish is well-preserved and bright. The screw post is of full length, about 9 mm long measured from its raised base. The Pobeda Factory marked screw plate is of the period, fits perfectly, and likely original to the badge.
