Monogrammed brass lighter, circa 1950s-70s.
Measures 70 x 30 x 11 mm with the lid on. Three-part construction: fueling and flint replacement access is on the bottom of the middle part, covered from both top and bottom. The bottom cover is very tight by design. Some effort is required to pull it off to add fuel or replace the flint. The bottom cover features a large monogram, by the looks of it scratched by hand by the owner. The top cover is similarly monogrammed with initials "ЛГ" and the name of the Ukrainian city Vinnitsa in Cyrillics ("ВИННИЦА").
The lighter is in perfect working condition. As evidenced by the faint traces of the smell, it had fuel at some point. The flint is inserted, the wheel works fine and the wick looks unused (or, perhaps, the burnt tip was trimmed off). Mild patina on the brass is very attractive and adds character.
Overall, this can be a fine addition to someone's collection of Soviet lifestyle memorabilia.
