Khrushchev-era desktop decoration Truskavets, probably by Baranovka Porcelain Factory, circa 1950s.

Stands 3 ½" tall, 3" wide. The base is approx. 2" x 1". In glazed porcelain, shaped like a convex lens, with sepia photo artwork on the obverse. The obverse features a miniature sepia photo of the main building of the Truskavets balneological resort in Ukraine. The name of the resort is spelled out under the photo, in Ukrainian language. The reverse is blank. The item is not maker marked. However, similar decorations cast from an identical model are marked by the logo of the Baranovka Porcelain Factory, in use from 1950 to 1957.

In very good condition. The porcelain shows just one tiny chip at approx. 3:20 on the clock face. The surface of the photo artwork on the obverse has acquired a few microscopic scuffs and a couple of hairlines which are so small that they are simply lost in the image, unless you really make an effort to find them.

This decoration is an uncommon period piece from the Krushchev era and will make a very nice addition to a collection of Soviet memorabilia.

Please note that the coin in our photo is for size reference.
