In wool bunting. Very large size, about 70" by 46" (nearly 6 x 4 feet). Made in the manner standard for Soviet flags intended for maritime
use. The canvas hoist sleeve shows a Soviet GOST-81 manufacturing standard code and a 1992 date of manufacture. Note that although the flag is
from the year following the collapse of the USSR in 1991, it is made to the same exact specifications as the flags from the 1970s-80s.
The flag is in fair to good condition. Its colors are very strong, not faded in the least. There is practically no soiling, only a few tiny
spots that are almost unnoticeable considering the massive size of the flag. Unfortunately, as it is often the case with Soviet-era items made
of wool, there is substantial moth damage: one large hole near the bottom edge in mid-section and a number of smaller moth holes and bites
elsewhere, mostly around the Air Force emblem and at the edges. There is no active moth infestation. Although its condition is far from
perfect, this hard-to-find Soviet Air Force flag will still display very nicely.
