V I Lenin, a drypoint lithograph circa 1960s, hand-signed artist's proof.

Measures approx. 11" x 8 ½". The lithograph itself is about 5 ½" x 3 ¾". This is the original work of the artist V. Prokofyev who signed it in pencil. The reverse features the artist's name and title of the lithograph. The ink stamp in the bottom right-hand corner of the reverse is that of the Fine Arts Salon of the Moscow Arts Fund, perhaps the highest-esteemed artists' union in the entire USSR.

The lithograph itself is in impeccable condition. The paper around it is in excellent condition as well, showing just microscopic corner bumps. Barely visible faint staining may be visible on both sides of the paper sheet and should be expected for an original work in this technique. An old, long since flattened out crease can be guessed in the bottom right corner. None of the described imperfections are detractive to any degree.

Of note is that a mechanical press is required to generate sufficient pressure during imprinting the image from the matrix onto the paper (you can see that the image is "sunk" into the paper, the edges sticking out on the reverse. A side effect of this necessity is that very few prints are possible before the burrs on the matrix deteriorate.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
