Windows of the TASS 1941 - 1945", by Victor Maslennikov, C 2007, Moscow.
Russian text, hard cover, 127 pp, size 7 " x 9 3/4" x 1/4"; nearly 100 color illustrations.
While very early Soviet propaganda posters are a rather well-researched subject, there are few publications dedicated entirely to posters of WW2 era.
The book is specifically on the war posters published by the "TASS" - the Russian abbreviation for "Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union"; the "Windows" was its series of posters addressing current events, produced on a daily basis by some of the best known Soviet artists. Their talent and round-the-clock labor made these posters a very welcome part of Russian everyday life during the war.
Extensive narrative provides detailed history of the creation of many of these works and includes various interesting details.
