Badge for Long Distance Voyage, Surface Ship, Type 1, circa mid 1960s - early 70s issue.
In brass and enamels, 26.3 mm tall, 34.1 mm wide; very nice quality. Features flat reverse with raised stylized Cyrillic П ("P") in a circle, an early maker mark of the Pobeda Factory, with an additional characters next to it that look like a "68" (as far as we know, this is not the year of manufacture.)
In very fine condition. The white enamel has a couple of tiny flakes at the edge of the flag, almost unnoticeable without magnification. There are also some minuscule contact marks, mainly to the white portion of the flag, but the enamel overall has very nice luster and appears nearly perfect to the unaided eye. The details of the warship are nicely preserved and crisp. Some of the original fire gilt is present in the recessed areas of the wreath and flagpole. The reverse likewise retains a good amount of the original gilt finish.
