Raised 3D profile of Lenin on a Massive Wall Plague in Bronze circa 1950s-60s, rare limited edition.
Measures 7" in diameter, massive (1 lb. 12 oz.). So massive actually, that the hanger part is soldered solidly at both its ends to ensure it can handle the weight of the plaque. This is a highly unusual item in many respects. We have never encountered another one quite like it. The profile of Lenin's bust is in exceptionally high 3D relief. The plaque was struck by the Moscow Mint ("Московский Монетный Двор") as marked on the reverse, which is unusual in itself but the mark is accompanied by "Министерство Финансов СССР" (Ministry of Finance of the USSR) which makes the plaque even more unique. It is common knowledge that the Soviet Mints were a part of the USSR Ministry of Finance but, normally, all we see on objects struck by a Soviet Mint is its logo or acronym.
In excellent condition. Attractive patina all around, a couple of very small scuff marks on Lenin's cheek. The soldering of the hanger is intact and strong.
Please note that the quarter coin in our photo is for size reference.
