In aluminum, paint and lacquer; the medallion measures 47.9 mm incl. eyelet, 44.8 mm in width; overall height with suspension is approx. 68 mm. The reverse shows a raised logo of the Factory of Experimental and Souvenir Items in the town of Mytishchi (Moscow Region). Excellent condition.

An interesting piece, this badge is a true VDV Airborne veteran's issue as opposed to the myriad of souvenir pins that were available for purchase in Soyuzpechat kiosks and invariably had a retail price in raised characters on the reverse. It is also one of the last parachute badges of the Soviet era which ended just a year later.
