Ready for Labor and Defense badge, variation by the TrudGravyor Workshop, #389051, 1931-1936.
Silver plated brass, enamels; medallion measures 30.1 mm across. The suspension has inscription "TsIK USSR VSFK" ("All-Union Council of Physical Culture at the Central Executive Committee of the USSR"). Features single-piece pendant with stamped serial number on the reverse and without a provision for a pin. This version of the badge was produced by the Trudovoi Gravyor (Laborer Engraver) Workshop in Leningrad.2
In excellent condition. The enamel shows beautiful luster and is essentially perfect, has only a couple of microscopic contact marks unnoticeable to the naked eye - no flaking, rubbing or other wear. The raised details of the athlete are perfect and crisp; nearly all of the original silver finish is still present. The suspension chains are original and full length. The characteristically thin screw post is over 8.5 mm long, has not been shortened. Comes with an unmarked screw plate which is of the period and fits perfectly, although it is not original to this particular badge.
