Excellent Torpedo Artificer badge, early- to mid-1950s.

Brass, enamels; measures 45.9 x 36.6 mm; weighs 13.5 g without the screw plate. This is the last variation of the badge, "classic flat" according to B. Airapetyan's Breast Badges of the Red Army, 1941-1945 (See p. 97, fig.3).

In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel is pristine, free of even the microscopic contact marks that could be found under a 10x magnification. The details of the wreath, torpedo and naval mine are likewise perfect and exceptionally crisp. The original gold plating is perfect and very bright on both sides, free of blemishes or significant tarnish. The screw post is full length, over 11.5 mm, and includes original screw plate marked "Pobeda Factory, Moscow".

This is truly perfect example of Excellent Torpedoman's badge from the early Cold War era, literally impossible to upgrade.
