Brass, enamels; 38.3 x 30.7 mm. Raised Leningrad Mint mark ЛМД ("LMD") to the reverse. Shows a Border Guard holding AK- 47 submachine-gun, with a national boundary marker behind him and red map of the USSR on the background.

In excellent condition. The enamels and details are perfect; the silver finish is extremely well preserved having only tiny amount of wear to the raised points of the border-guard and the border marker. Light tarnish to the wreath but most of the original gold finish is present. The screw post has been slightly reduced for convenience but its remaining length of approx. 8 mm is enough for proper functioning. Includes original mint marked screw plate.
