Soviet Nautical Code Flag for Russian letter Е ("Еры"), also served as 1st Substitute Pennant of the International Nautical Code; dated 1952.
In wool bunting, same quality and construction as the typical Soviet Navy ensign and other naval flags of the period. Measures approx. 36" x 22". Comes with a long attachment rope in natural hemp (as opposed to synthetic thread as seen on later Soviet flags), complete with metal hardware to hoist on the line. The hoist sleeve shows markings of the Nabivtkan Factory, quality control stamp, a 1952 date of manufacture, and designation Е 1ЗАМ which stands for "E / 1st Substitute".
In excellent condition, free of any moth damage. Perfectly clean with the exception of a couple of tiny spots to the yellow field that are almost unnoticeable. The flag is completely sound, and the colors are bright, not showing any fading.
