Badge of a Participant of the Military Parade in Commemoration of the 45th Anniversary of Victory over Germany, 1990 issue.
Aluminum, paint, lacquer; medallion is 38.9 mm wide. The raised inscription on the reverse is "9 May 1990". The reverse of the suspension device shows stylized raised logo ФСС ("FSS") of the Experimental Factory of Sports Souvenirs and Badges in Moscow. In excellent condition.
This interesting badge is, to our knowledge, the last one of the Soviet jubilee parade participant series. In 1990, the Soviet Union was already on the downward spiral due to its bankrupt economy and growing national independence movement in the constituent republics. It rapidly disintegrated in the second half of the following year after the abortive communist coup against Gorbachev.
