Badge of a Veteran of the 1st Guards Ground Attack Aviation Corps.

Aluminum, paint, lacquer; the medallion measures approx. 45 mm in height (including the eyelet), 41 mm wide. The inscription reads "1st Kirovograd Berlin Ground Attack Aviation Corps" and "Veteran of the Great Patriotic War 1941 - 1945." The city names Kirovograd and Berlin signify where the unit distinguished itself in combat, which were added to its name as an honorary title. The suspension shows a Guards badge signifying that it's a Guards unit. On the suspension is also depicted the unit's Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov, and Order of Kutuzov. The inscription on the reverse reads "102 Heroes of the Soviet Union" and the abbreviation for "1st Guards Kirovograd Berlin Ground Attack Aviation Corps High Command Reverse." The badge is in excellent condition.
