In German silver and enamels; measures 32.7 mm in height incl. eyelet x 29.6 mm in width. The inscription reads "Builder of Tashkent". An interesting and unusual artwork incorporating a red rose and new high-rise apartment building. There is a late version mint mark of the Leningrad Mint on the reverse. In excellent condition.

The Uzbek capital of Tashkent suffered a devastating earthquake on 26 April 1966. In its aftermath, an enormous rebuilding and expansion effort was put forth by the new Brezhnev administration. Due to efforts of tens of thousands of construction workers from all parts of the Soviet Union, Tashkent had become the fourth largest city in the country by the time of the breakup of the USSR.
