Medal of Honored Builder of Kirgiz SSR, circa 1970s- 80s.
In nickel-plated brass and enamel; medallion measures 26.3 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 27.7 mm in width. The blue enamel is of fine quality. The inscription is in Kirgiz language on the obverse, Russian on the reverse. The reverse of the suspension device shows mint mark "MD" (double-struck).
In excellent condition. The enamel is perfect. The nickel finish is nearly pristine having only very light wear to the raised lettering on the reverse.
The title of Honored Builder of Kirgizstan was established in 1961. The medal was instituted later, probably at some point during the early 70s. It is of uncommon design, noticeably different from most other Soviet medals for honorary title holders.
