Brass, enamels; 53.2 x 28.7 mm. Features relief reverse construction and is significantly larger than the later issues. This is a Type 1 badge which had been issued for only two years until 1946, and is also known as the "Narkomat" type. This impressive award has the typical rugged quality of the "otlichnik" badges of the period

In excellent condition, outstanding for the early type. The enamel is practically perfect having only light rubbing, no chips, repairs or noticeable flaking. Some of the original fire gilt is visible on the reverse. The screw post is full length, approx. 11 mm. Comes with a period screw plate maker marked "ZhRPT Factory" which is probably original to the badge.
