Imperial Nonportable Medal, 1000th Organ EF Walcker & Co.

1902. Very finely crafted medallion, showing a panorama of the factory on one side, and a profile of the firm's founder on the other. Notable is the high relief of the portrait, Herr Walcker's ear stands about 3 mm high of the surface of the coin! Sharp detail and fine artistry.

Maker marked to M.&W.ST. About 33 mm in diameter and in very good condition. Shows darkening and surface wear to the bronze finish.

This German organ company was famous for producing high quality organs installed in churches around the world. Many antique examples are still in operation in the United States and Germany. The company is currently still in existence.
