Administrative Major General slip-on Dress shoulder boards, late 1950s through 1960s.
Silver embroidery with gold bullion stars. Silver brocade indicated an administrative general, perhaps quartermaster, medical, veterinary, or legal.
6 1/2". Six-sided, silver brocade with red piping, gold bullion stars.
Very good to excellent condition. Very light wear. The silver bullion has toned with age. Two or three tiny moth nips on the reverse of one board, not visible when displayed on a uniform or under glass.
With branch insignia affixed, these boards could also have been worn by a naval veterinary or medical generals. Administrative boards are uncommon, particularly those worn by generals.
