The mount measures 4 1/4" by 6 1/2", the image size is 3 3/4" by 5 3/4". A standard generic mount for the time period (as used by smaller studios), it is impressed with the words "CABINET PORTRAIT" and "Souvenir." Points of interest are the large - and possibly too large for him - belt that he wears and the sort of pompom that he is either holding or he may have tied to his left thumb? The pompom may have had a military connection or it may simply have been something that would have held meaning for a specific viewer of the photo. Blank verso.
