Participant's badge of the All-Union VTsSPS Olympiad (Contest) of Amateur Performance Arts, Moscow, 1932.

Silver-plated brass, enamels. Interesting design incorporating a cogwheel and a military style bugle, apparent references to the proletarian roots and the "revolutionary" role of the arts. Letters "VTsSPS" (ВЦСПС) in the teeth of the cogwheel stand for the All-Union Central Council of the Trade Unions.

In very fine condition. The red enamel on the pendant shows surface flaking along the edges and around the lettering. The black enamel in the upper portion is perfect whereas that in the bell of the bugle has bubbles which appear to be manufacturing flaws. The silver finish is nearly perfect. Comes with an old screw plate which may be original to the badge
