Guard's Badge, 1970s-80s.

In brass and enamels, screw back construction. Size 47 mm x 38 mm. Reverse shows maker mark "MMD" (Moscow Mint).

This Moscow Mint version of the Guards Badge is of noticeably better quality than the post-war Guard's badges by other manufacturers. Note the characteristic rounded shape of the badge and the folds under the red enamel of the flag.

Excellent unissued condition. Comes with original mint marked screw plate. /See Breast Badges of the Red Army, 1941-1945, p. 63, fig. 15.1/.
