Measures 2" in diameter. Standard type with a Bakelite and brass case. Brass sights are screwed to the stainless-steel bezel. Marked in large raised lettering "Workshops of the RKKA Artillery Directorate" on the inside housing. The backside has a stamped year of manufacture "1940".

In excellent working condition. Original glass is free of chips, cracks or significant scuffs; the dial is fully legible. The black paint on the upper part of the housing covering the upper brass part of the housing is extremely well preserved, showing only minimal wear. Both sights are likewise intact and still have their original brass screws. A delicate instrument that survived not only all of WW 2 but also the past decades.

The leather wrist strap appears to be of the period and possibly original to the compass. Just like the compass itself, the strap is in excellent condition; its leather is still sound and pliable, not overly dry. The steel buckle is fully functional and free of rust.

Please note, the penny in our photo is for size reference.
