Special-Issue Government Postal Cover Commemorating the Launch of the International Astrophysical Laboratory Granat, 1989.

The size is 6 ½" x 4 ½", with a pre-printed special-issue commemorative postal stamp. Postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The artwork and stamp commemorate the unmanned international astrophysical orbital laboratory created with participation from France, Denmark, and Bulgaria, launched on 1 December 1989 to study black holes, neutrino stars and nuclei of galaxies.
