East Germany, Free German Youth Medal of Honor for a Youth Project in Berlin, circa 1960s-70s.
In brass with gold-colored metal coating, measures 35 mm wide. The inscription on the obverse reads "Central Youth Center, FDJ Initiative, Berlin." The inscription in relief on the reverse reads "For Outstanding Achievements." The suspension has EHRENMEDAILLE ("Medal of Honor") under a layer of clear lacquer or resin.
In very fine to excellent condition, showing only light scuffing to the clear lacquer of the suspension and a couple of microscopic chips to it along the top edge. The pin attachment is fully functional.
The medal was awarded in commemoration of the FDJ members
