The artists' pseudonym KUKRYNIKSY is handwritten at the lower right-hand corner of the image, dated 1945. The artwork is an offset print of their 1945 caricature on the Nuremberg Process.

KuKryNiksy was the collective pseudonym of Mikhail Kupriyanov, Porfiriy Krylov, and Nikolai Sokolov, twice laureates of the Stalin Prize, members of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. They were three talented artists who faithfully served the Soviets from the 1920s through the 1980s as political caricaturists but also worked independently as artists in other techniques.
