Very fine condition. The white enameled border has a small repair and a couple of hairlines near the top, not too glaring or detractive. The enamel is perfect otherwise. There is a minor amount of wear and tarnish to the ship. The screw post is nearly 7 mm long, probably the full length for this version of the badge. Comes with an unmarked screw plate of the Tal

The name of the school is literally translated as "Odessa Seafaring School of Technical Fleet", the Russian designation "technical fleet" standing for special-purpose vessels such as dredges, tugs, cable- and pipe-laying ships, rescue vessels, floating research laboratories etc. The school's acronym ОМУТФ ("OMUTF ") is often incorrectly interpreted as "Odessa School of Merchant Commerce Fleet", a mistake that appears even in some reference sources on Soviet badges.
