Our online research on Russian military archival sites yielded a very likely candidate to be the husband of Ekaterina Lemstrem: Boris Lemstrem (Борис Николаевич Лемстрем), then most likely in the rank of captain or major, Engineers. Later, at some point during the Patriotic War, he served with the 659th Artillery Regiment, 221st Rifle Division, 3rd Ukrainian Front. He was highly decorated: two Orders of the Red Star, two Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd class, various medals.
In excellent, condition. Nothing but the tiniest amount of storage wear to the oilcloth of the back cover and microscopic scuffs to the top corners. The ID photo shows moderate wear to the emulsion but most of it becomes visible only when tilting the photo to reflect a bright light. All the printed and handwritten text, seal and signature are crisp, clear, and perfectly legible.
